Are you thinking about going straight into the world of work after you leave high school?  Make sure you're ready!  Below are some resources that may help you.  If you have any questions, feel free to stop by and see your school counselor.
 

Naviance

Each student at RSHS has their own personal acccount through Naviance using your google account.  This site allows you to research careers and create a resume.  It is a wealth of information that is great for preparing for the future.


AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) is a full-time, team-based residential program for men and women age 18-24.  Members are assigned to one of five campuses located in Denver, Colorado; Sacramento, California; Perry Point, Maryland; Vicksburg, Mississippi; and Vinton, Iowa.

This is a subsidiary of Career Builder.  CareerPath.com is a career resource center that will assist you in making the right career decisions.  Assistance is provided with career tests, advice, and resources.

Occupational Outlook Handbook

The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their future work lives.  The handbook is revised every two years.


Pay Scale

Get reports comparing payscales for future jobs.  They will ask you to sign up for services, but you do not have to do so.


The Career Key

Expert help with career options, career change, career search, job skills, and choosing a college major or training program.  It is based on Holland's theory of career choice.  Quality information about the jobs you identify.
